Description

Starting from the Bauer Trail, the first half mile of this trail is a winding singletrack that descends through the juniper and cedar forest, some of which are covered in Spanish moss. There are occasional rocks embedded in the trail bed from the karst.

At the end of the short descent, the forest gives way to open field, where you can see a wildflowers in the spring. This section is however open and lacking shade from the hot Texas summer. After about a half mile through this open filed, the trail intersects with the Curry Creek Overlook Trail and the Golden-cheeked Warbler Trail, where there are a couple of benches.

Beyond the Golden-cheeked Warbler Trail, the doubletrack continues, again through the forest offering some shade until you reach the intersection with the Bauer Trail and another set of benches.
