Need to Know
The main Baileys Trails access is from the Chauncey Park Trailhead. Access to the trails in the park is via wooden bridge across a small stream on the eastside of the park. To get to the park, take a left turn (westbound) off of Ohio State Route 13 onto West Bailey Rd, then a left turn onto the driveway about 100 yards up the road.
You can access Salt Works Trail via Chauncey Depot and
Coal Train Trail. Salt Works can also be accessed from the middle of
Coal Train Trail and is a connector between Tipple Top, Coal Train, and
Lost Marbles Trail.
Description
Salt Works Trail is named for the historic salt mining operations located here just outside the village of Chauncey. This trail is an easy to intermediate rating. The preferred direction of travel is clockwise, in which direction you'll find a nice descent back toward the Chauncey Park Trailhead. Salt Works Trail provides access to two intermediate trails, Tipple Top and Lost Marbles.
