Need to Know

The main Baileys Trails access is from the Chauncey Park Trailhead, but Wild Turkey Trail can also be accessed where it crosses West Bailey Road, at the "Turkey Crossing" trailhead.

At the crossing there is parking on the shoulder of the Southeast bound side of the road for 6 or more vehicles. To get to the trailhead drive about 1.8 miles on West Bailey Rd from Chauncey Park

Description

Wild Turkey trail is a fast, flowy, intermediate-level trail that connects the end of Tipple Top to Lost Marbles Trail. Wild Turkey has its own trailhead that can be accessed on West Bailey Rd. Wild Turkey Trail gives the first good view of the Baileys oak management area, where prescribed fires stimulate oak regeneration; oaks provide critical habitat for wild turkeys.

The easternmost section of the trail (on the east side of West Bailey Rd) descends to possibly the most scenic spot on the Baileys Trails so far; a branch of the tranquil West Bailey Run stream, and also connects to Hacksaw Trail, a difficult level option to take you back to West Bailey Road.
