Family Friendly Crane Lake at its south end shares trailheads with Mesa Top Trail #714 , Indian Point #715 and Flowing Park #715.1A

Seasonal closures due to snow. Elevation at 10,200. Some people may have altitude issues. Some unlocked trail gates to be expected.

Need to Know

Trail rerouted in 2018. Not heavily used. A good addition to other trails from shared trailhead.

Description

From the southern trailhead, singletrack through meadows and tree stands. Skirts Flowing Park Reservoir to its south. Singletrack ends at Crane Lake, but trail continues another ~1.2 miles to intersect FS Road 109, on Crane Lake Road #109.1C.

Some rocky stream crossings, but walkable. Small rock gardens during short climbs. Great overlook to the west into Kannah Creek drainage towards Grand Mesa, Bookcliffs and La Sals in UT.
