Overview

Easy to follow lollipop over sections of the Horseshoe Gulch Trail, Colorado Trail, Hippo Trail, Vomit Hill Trail, Soda Creek Trail, Hay Trail and Blair Witch Trail. The new rolling Hippo Trail winds through heavily forested sections of Swan Mountain, featuring banked turns,

Description

The ride starts at the Horseshoe Gulch Dredge Trailhead (AKA Tiger Road Dredge Trailhead). The first 200 yards of the Horseshoe Gulch Trail crosses tailings leftover from the dredge gold mining operation in the early 1900s. About 100 yard after passing around an access gate, the trail intersects with the Colorado Trail, turn left (West) on the Colorado Trail and pass over a short bridge. The trail generally climbs for the next two miles over packed dirt with short sections of decomposed granite. Continue past the intersection with the Blair Witch Trail for another 1/2 mile to the start of the New Hippo Trail

The description as Summit County's premier trail is absolutely overblown. This was mediocre and not worth the effort! 6.4mi
