Overview

Short on time or energy? This packs in a nice climb, good views, and some nice aspen forest in just a few miles.

Description

Start up the Ute Trail with a climb in the aspens between Arrowhead Village and Bachelor Gulch. The trail is non-technical and it climbs casually for the most part, with a few more aerobically challenging sections.

Near the top, take a right on Apache, a smooth flowing singletrack with great valley views up high through open terrain. Lower down it quickly passes through an aspen forest before ending on the dirt road. Maybe some day they'll extend it to the bottom? For now, follow the road called Piece O' Cake back to the base area.
