One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Description
Starting off of road 4000, the top of Dad Bod is perched on a rather large rock outcropping with a tremendous view of Mt. Baker, Lake Whatcom and the surrounding Sudden Valley, WA region (on a clear day). After taking it all in, drop into the seemingly flat but oh so chunky and raw technical downhill trail.
There is one pretty blind fade away corner at the top of Upper Dad Bod with a small roll/drop in the middle of it. Caution if you go too fast on this one -- you can launch yourself off the trail and deep into a fern-y abyss. After that there are a couple more rough sections and then a steep and rutted G-Out before crossing the road.
The second half (Lower Dad Bod) starts just across road 4000 and is very obviously marked. The trail gets a lot more physical, technical, and pretty steep in the bottom 1/3rd of the trail. There are quite a few natural doubles on the trail if you have the speed and ability to pull up on them, as well as one manmade jump at the top of the trail. If you can still manage to hold onto your bars at the bottom, make sure to grab a little bit of brake to ensure you make it across the narrow wooden bridge safely. After that there is a short but steep singletrack climb out back to
Road 4000.
