One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Need to Know
There are several doubletrack ranch roads in the Highland Trail Area that lead to Private Property. Stay on designated trails and don't explore any unauthorized ranch roads. Respect Private Property.
Description
From the Highland Area Hub 1, take the trail to your immediate ride and begin a short, but very steep climb up the hill. This hill is a short, but hard push to discourage unprepared riders from getting in over their heads on Tuck and Roll.
Once at the top of the climb, begin a chunky traverse around the hill. Enjoy this while you drop your seat and prepare for the fun stuff. A steep left switchback marks the beginning of the highlight section of Tuck and Roll. Super steep switchbacks, technical rock moves and super-fast sweeping berms drop you quickly down the side of the hill. There are some fun, boulder ride-overs but most moves do have ride-arounds. Take it slow the first time down so you can assess your comfort level on these moves and find the ride-arounds.
As the trail levels out, enjoy the smooth, fast descent to the ranch road crossing. Cross the road and stay on the trail and continue descending down and around the dry pond. Arrive at the intersection with
Sallee Key Flow and
Faye's Fury.
At this point, you have a couple of options. Take a right and ride up the short section of
Sallee Key Flow to the ranch road and climb up
Sallee Key again if you want to extend your ride or ride Tuck and Roll again. Or you can continue straight on
Faye's Fury and descend to
Jasper and make your way back into the Colorow Area. Do not climb up
Faye's Fury as it is downhill only from this point.
