One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.

Description

The Fox River Trail, surfaced with crushed limestone, offers exceptional scenic and wildlife viewing opportunities. The west side of the trail passes by a nice recreation area with picnic tables and a water source, before turning east to parallel the Fox River.

A little farther along is an observation area to view regional wildlife. After that, the path enters a wooded canopy as you head north back to the trailhead.

As with all the main trails at Moraine Hills, this loop is one-way, opposite traffic for hikers and bikers.

Nearby parking available at end of McHenry Dam Road or connect to the rest of the trail system via connector that runs under River Road.
