Overview

Good views of the Columbia Valley and Kennewick; steep climb, sketchy descent...awesome.

Description

Start with the State Patrol Freeway ascent, transition past the upper parking lot to Razorback (past Supersport trail) and bomb down it. Once in the bottom, take a right turn onto the two-track for about 20 yards. Look for the faint singletrack dropping into the gulley on your left just as the two-track starts climbing.

Follow the gulley to Coleman's Ascent (you can't miss it: giant two-track climb about half a mile long). Follow the road about 100 yards shy of the top and look for another faint singletrack to your right. Follow it to the top, circle around the pyramid and Perry's Monument, and head back down to the west (rugged two-track).

Take the first right and follow it up to the top of the adjacent hill. A singletrack (Slick Rock Plus) emerges on your left (east) as you summit. Take it, traversing the hillside, past two wrecked cars from way back when, and do a 180 into the ravine which takes you to the bottom of the canyon again.

From here, you have your pick of routes. You can go back to the parking lot or back into the State Patrol system. I suggest going up Fred & John's or any of the doubletracks and then west to Big Tire Downhill. Sweet loop.
