Need to Know
Access to the trailhead is right off of Liberty Road just before a guardrail. There is no parking, but there are numerous areas nearby you can park and bike to the trailhead.
Description
Start by winding down some narrow track down to the waterfront. The first third or so of the trail closely follows the water, passing through lots of off-camber, heavily rooted and narrow trail that will test your bike control skills (some may need to walk parts of this section).
The middle third of the trail is much easier, turning back into the woods and featuring far flatter and smoother track that is easier to ride. Here, you'll cross two streams, one that has a makeshift bike bridge, and another that is sometimes shallow enough to bike through (you'll usually have to carry though).
The final third is extremely hilly, rocky, and technical! The hill right after the second stream crossing is a killer, and there are a couple other tough climbs. Fortunately, the trail widens out in this part as well.
Towards the end, you'll see the turnoff to the right where the
Cemetery Trail ends.
When you see the pumping station, take a left on the trail up toward some houses. This winds down a hill to Snowden's Run Road. If you stay right on the trail, you'll face a super steep and rocky drop that is a bit scary to run a bike down.
