Guiones to Ostional: 30k Single, Gravel and Beach

You are likely to see crocs, howler monkeys, snakes, iguanas and other wildlife during the day. Ostional is a turtle breeding ground - you might encounter those if done in the dark so be careful as babies are making their way to the Pacific around full moons.

Could be a challenge across stream crossings during the wet season. Tides and wind will affect the ride. There are dedicated singletrack MTB trails along the route but those are on private property.

This route starts at Bakers Beach or South Guiones. Ride the beach to singletrack next to Nosara Hotel crossing to Playa Pelada.

Continue on the gravel road past El Chivo followed by a short stint of tarmac on 160. Use the doubletrack gravel River Trail and cross Nosara River on the Rasta Bridge. Turn left at Santa Marta past Sibu on more doubletrack with two stream/river crossings.

Next, turn left back on 160 and head over the pedestrian bridge. Turn left again at the soda and onto the beach past the Ostional cemetery. Ride the hard-pack dark sand beach north to Rock Point and turn back to do it all in reverse.
