Overview
Fun warm-up and cool down for the Mckenzie Ranch loops. If you aren't having fun, you are doing it wrong!
Need to Know
One of the most fun trail systems in the area. Park at the railroad tracks.
Hohokam Trail is two-way singletrack, so be mindful of other riders. Hikers with dogs and horses are allowed on Hohokam, but Mckenzie Ranch is one-way, MTB-only singletrack. Feel the flow!
Description
Hohokam Trail adds fun mileage of flow with a steep climb on the way out with fast climbs and easily reckless turns on the way back. Start at the railroad tracks and follow the singletrack to the obvious trail entrance. Some fast singletrack will lead you to a sandy wash crossing that turns into the steepest climb in the trail system.
Follow the flow out to a gate just before the Mckenzie Ranch trailhead. Recommend completing the
North Loop and
South Loop combo by hanging left at the forks, but do as you please at Mckenzie mileage wise; just remember the 3.6 miles of steady climbs back to the Hohokam Trailhead.
