Description

Start on 8114H off of Bates Well Road, hang a left onto 8114I and follow to 8115B (currently unmarked at this intersection, as of March 2021).

This trail is a beautiful view of the small mountain furthest south of Black Mountain in the Little Ajo Range, riding across ancient lava that is now black gravel (please do not leave the trail here, as tracks across this gravel will remain for generations).

There are a few narrow wash crossings on this trail that should be rideable even on a gravel bike - they are more gravel-based than deep sand. This trail is not much different than riding a dirt road, and could be ridden quite fast as it is hard-pack dirt and gravel, but you'll miss the amazing, rugged landscape!

Black gravel from old lava flows makes for an amazing scene - but easily disturbed! Please don't ride off trail!
