Need to Know

Parking is not available at either end of the trail, must use Upper South Trail Ski Area Segment or South Trail: Section 1 to access. Combining the three makes a small loop with a good amount of elevation change.

Description

Starting from the end of the South Trail: Upper Ski Area segment, this trail begins with a short, steep climb paralleling Delafield Road (you can climb the road and connect in near the top of the hill). The trail then crosses above The Owner's Club (neighborhood) through a rocky section of new trail, then crosses a connecting trail.

From here, the trail begins a gradual descent following an old trailbed before beginning a winding descent through hardwood forest. The trail runs close to some horse trails that provide alternate ways back or to reconnect to this trail. The trail continues to wind along mostly downhill until connecting to the South Trail: Section 1.

This trail can be traveled from south to north providing a less-demanding climb to connect back to the Ski Area. It does have a fun downhill at the end with some larger rocks on new trail.

Think I did this one backwards. Rode up the rock garden. Ooops.
