Currently is undergoing restoration by the Lowelifes Respectable Citizens Club. The trail may not be easily passable from end to end.

Need to Know

The first four miles from the bottom are in good condition after Lowelifes Respectable Citizens Club last trail work day. The middle section of trail currently needs more volunteer work. There is no cell service at the lower trailhead. Nearest gas, food and other services are in Tujunga.

Description

Condor Peak Trail is a 10-mile moderately popular, blue singletrack trail. This multi-use trail can be used both directions and has a hard overall physical rating.

One climbs up from the parking area to a small saddle popular with local hikers. You then descend for a bit before the longer climb begins and trail traffic reduces.

The trail becomes more exposed and narrow as you ascend from Big Tujunga Canyon. In the summer months, this area can be very hot and there is little shade.

Trail is in great shape thanks to the volunteer work. It is blue difficulty with double black consequences… you can die on this trail. Fun! 15mi — 3h 00m

Rode this on L.A. Tourist Race. Amazing approaching this from Mendenhall Ridge. What an incredible trail! 70mi — 10h 00m

Made it about half way up to Iron Mountain. Fun technical climb, lots of loose kitty litter parts of the trail so watch out. Bring lots of water. 13mi — 2h 41m
