Need to Know

The Lookout Restaurant is located in the Lakota Links Clubhouse and offers a tasty food menu and a full bar. The Lookout staff loves seeing bikers come in for post-ride lunch and beers so please consider stopping in after your ride if you appreciated having access to our trails through their property.

And make sure to tell them you enjoyed your ride and thank you for allowing access. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating and is family friendly.

The Lookout has an amazing burger, great draft beer selections and the best outdoor patio in New Castle.

Description

Park your vehicle at the Lakota Links Clubhouse parking lot. There is plenty of parking here and provides direct access to the Lakota Launchpad.

From the parking area, head north on the paved Clubhouse Drive for a short while. At the end of pavement, continue on the dirt road heading north. At this point, you are riding on the golf course maintenance access road and will be in close proximity to the golf course. So if golfers are present please be respectful of them and be quiet until you are off of the golf course.

The dirt road will eventually come to an end at the cart path. At this point, you need to take a left and descend down the cart path steeply for a short while. The faint singletrack heading north across the cart path is not open to the public and crosses private property. Do not use this trail as you'll be trespassing.

As the cart path begins to make a turn to the left, spot a gap in the wooden guardrail and continue on the singletrack into the woods. From here, enjoy a pleasant, singletrack climb up to a signed split in the trail where you'll be faced with options.

If you are riding the Lakota Launchpad back out at the end of your ride, remember to take a left at the cart path, and climb steeply up the cart path and take a right on the access road. Then you can enjoy a fast descent all the way back to your car.

Do not bike on any other sections of the cart path, only ride on the portions that are signed as the Lakota Launchpad. Help us keep this important trail access through private property open by following the rules.

And dog owners please pick up after your pet if they are out enjoying the trails with you.
