Dogs Leashed
Family Friendly
This is a very easy paved trail. If you know how to ride a bike, you can ride this.
Need to Know
There is some parking available near South Main Cafe (corner W Hearne Ave and S Main) if you want to start at the beginning of the Trail de Paris. Another option is to park your car in the parking lot near the Paris, TX Eiffel Tower and get on the trail from there, going east. This is also a spot where they have some rental bikes available through the Movatic app. Other access points and parking is marked on the trail.
Description
This is a short segment of the Northeast Texas Trail and it starts in Paris, TX on the corner of 4th Street SW and W Hearne Ave. This part of the trail is called Trail de Paris. The first part of the trail takes you through the urban area in Paris. There are a few intersections you need to cross, but traffic isn't bad.
Once you pass S Collegiate Drive, there are fewer intersections and the trail is more shaded by trees from this point on.
The Trail de Paris turns into the Reno Rail Trail just before you cross Key West Rd in Reno. The Prairieland Trail connects the Reno Rail Trail to the Blossom Rail Trail.
This trail is well maintained in the Paris area and it's all paved. It gets a little less maintained towards Blossom with grass growing in cracks in the pavement, but it's still easy to ride. It's also very shaded by trees, so it's a nice ride on a hot day.
There are some benches and picnic tables along the trail and some water fountains. There's no lighting along the trail.
This trail is an old railroad track that's been converted into a multi-use trail. As stated before, it's a part of the Northeast Texas Trail, which is still under construction in some areas west of Paris, TX and east of Blossom, TX.
