Need to Know

It is steep and exposed in places but is generally easy to follow.

Description

History: The trail up into Silver Canyon was developed to access the Fox Tail mineral prospect and the Million Mine up on the ridge and dates back to 1910.

Travelers of all kinds will enjoy the incredible sights as they travel through colorful and geologically complex cliffs on both sides of the valley.

Silver Lake is surrounded by 10,000 and 11,000-foot peaks on all sides! This is well worth the trip even if you end up on foot for parts on the way in.
