FS Road 1127 forms the boundary between the Oconee National Forest (ONF) and the Piedmont Wildlife Refuge (PWR). The road is maintained by the PWR and is gated. Usually this means no bicycle access, but in this special case the PWR/ONF have agreed to allow horse and bike traffic in order to connect the Ocmulgee River Trail Network with River Road, which leads to Juliette.

Description

FS Road 1127 forms the boundary between the Oconee National Forest (ONF) and the Piedmont Wildlife Refuge (PWR). Usually a gate in the PWR means no bicycle access, but in this special case the PWR/ONF have agreed to allow horse and bike traffic on FS 1127 in order to connect White Creek Trail and the Ocmulgee River Trail Network with River Road, a county-maintained dirt road that leads to Juliette.

FS1127 has been graveled in the past, but many sections are mostly dirt surface now. It's bush-hogged a couple of times a year, but if you catch it at the wrong time it can have waist-high grass (but is still rideable).

Pay close attention if heading north from River Road at 0.9 miles so as not to miss the left turn into the woods and onto White Creek Trail.
