Family Friendly This would be a good short (0.8 mi) hike from the Ocmulgee Flats Campground down to the river and back for small kids or dogs.

Might be inundated when the Ocmulgee gets out of its banks.

Need to Know

Parking and primitive camping available at Ocmulgee Flats Campground at the trail's southeast end on FS Road 1099.

Description

The Ocmulgee Flats Connector leads from the primitive campground and parking area on the west side of FS 1099 northwestward to the River Trail: South.

Since some of the trail tends to be marshy and flood-prone, the USFS has installed pavers along part of the section to stabilize the path. When combined with the River Trail: South and FS 1099, it's a good way to make some mix-terrain loops.
