Overview
This loop used to have a lot of singletrack sections. But after the fires of 2020, the trails were all widened since the park is close to residential areas. Because it is so close to the neighborhood, it is easy to drop in before work or after work to do some laps.
Need to Know
You'll need to pay parking fees when school is in session. Otherwise, it is free. There are picnic tables and port-a-potties close to the trailhead. There are restrooms close to the tennis and pickleball courts. You can bike or drive to the corner of Yerba Buena and San Felipe for Starbucks, Le Boulanger, Pizza My Heart, Panda Express, Beach Hut Deli, Iguanas, McDonalds, or CVS.
Description
The riding is primarily doubletrack to fire road, half hilly and half mostly flat sections. There are sections with loose rocks during the summer, while there could be water tracks during the winter.
You can go any direction you want and create your loop. Or session the hilly section with the 18% grade climb to prepare for more challenging rides.
The majority of the route is exposed, so don't forget to bring some water on a hot day. Watch out for hikers.
