Approachable trails, good parking at trailheads, and plenty of knowledgeable folks around.
There are sometimes trees down and some snow in winter, but it's clear now!
Overview
This loop helps you explore some of the southern sections of the
Arnold Rim Trail system without difficult climbs or super advanced features.
Need to Know
Parking is ample, but you may want to be careful on the dirt roads.
Description
Start at the top (or bottom) of
Yabba Dabba Doo, our newest flow trail. This 0.5-mile long two-way singletrack features approachable berms, great views, and optional jumps and features at the bottom, near the P9 parking lot.
After Yabba, cross the P9 lot and hit
Bam Bam, the newest trail on the system, which is a singletrack which crosses then runs parallel to Valley View Drive.
Bam Bam goes approximately 0.89 miles to a wooden water tower. Cross to another singletrack on the north side of Valley View Drive, until it hits a fire road, climbing to a gate on Valley View and back to P9 parking.
From there, feel free to explore the 5N95Y forest road, which proceeds down to Cowell Creek, and then towards the back of Lakemont Pines to make an out-and-back section of the trail. Finally, climb back up
Yabba Dabba Doo if you parked at the top.
History & Background
The ART system was formerly US Forest Service timberland, then an OHV park, that was converted for non-motorized use in the early 2000's. The local mountain bike community has been improving trails and building new ones, with a plan for many more in the future.
