Overview

This is a certified adventure ride, and tough on all fronts. Hard to find, hard to navigate, and hard to ride, but totally worth it if you're into those kinds of things. The main attractions are solitude and challenging terrain in a unique landscape. For this type of riding it is a classic.

Description

A downloaded track and maps are needed to safely follow this trail. To reach the trailhead, take the I-70 exit to Hanksville/Hwy 24 and head north on 1029/Cotter Mine Road. Go 3.25 miles and park. You can ride this as an out-and-back from the trailhead, or as the loop mapped here by first heading north on 1029/Cotter Mine Road, then left on Miners Run Road, and connecting to the northern end of the trail and riding it south.

Follow the cairns and white blazes where you see them, but know that the trail can be difficult to follow in places. The route passes a number of old mining adits and materials that are worth checking out. Expect no signs or services, and likely no people.
