Dogs Off-leash
Need to Know
If it has been a high moisture time like spring thaw, it is best to enter the system from Sundance White Ranch Park. This is a soils-based issue, and respect for your bike would be wise.
Description
The Etta Trail is new addition to the Sundance White Ranch Park Complex. It's located on City of Sundance property and was laid out to tech up the trails and add additional obstacles to sharpen the skills of new riders and old riders.
It connects to
Outlaw Trail in two areas to loop into the
Outlaw Trail, but has an additional access points from the city sidewalk on US HWY 14.
The trail has a multitude of surfaces to deal with, from red dirt which can be very hard pack to sand to very slippery depending on moisture. Organic soils and clays are present higher up. It has several Rhyolite scree areas, where speed is desired.
Some turns have flow, and then some are very tight making bike handling skills a skill to have or work on. Other turns are tight and off camber. There are three metal THAD bridges present and they require some diligence to enter, they allow the property fence line to be intact.
Trail was built primarily with hand tools, some mechanized, and also weed-eated due to low soil depth.
Its width ranges from narrow 12" trail to 24" trail.
It has several rocks very large in size and planned into the trails to facilitate bike-skill work.
