Description
This downhill starts from the
Comeback trail. The most enjoyable way to start this trail is from the north. It begins with an ever so slight climb along the top of a finger. Before reaching the end of the finger, the trail turns left and descends allowing one to gain some speed for another slight uphill. As the trail starts this brief climb,
Almond Joy forks off to the right going downhill. This is the bailout point for riders that don't want to ride the highly technical feature to come.
Continuing left at the fork, the trail rises slightly before starting the final descent. It becomes steeper and steeper until the chute appears. There are different ways one can start the chute because of a slight bend to the right at the top of it. One can keep slightly right and ride into the chute at the bend, stay in the middle of the trail where you'll be committed the whole way, or stay left and drop off an old stump straight into the gut of the chute. Regardless of the line choice, once in the chute, you'll stay in the chute. It's highly technical and highly eroded making it the most challenging part of the trail.
The trail becomes less steep at the exit of the chute but the technicality continues. This time from a natural rock garden. It is at this point that an optional little connector from
Almond Joy enters from the right. There are multiple line options through the rocks and over them. The trail then dives into a left hand berm to the intersection with
High Rider, Low Rider &
Sunbridge Road. One can climb
Sunbridge Road back to the top or turn right onto Low Rider or
High Rider. Keep in mind that
High Rider is a one way trail and Low Rider is bi-directional and multi use XC.
