Family Friendly Fun singletrack through a ponderosa forest past creeks and ponds.

Overview

Not too steep, not technical, plenty of flow, long downhills.

Description

This 14-mile loop covers almost all of the new singletrack at Chicken Creek. It's great in either direction, with a long gradual climb to the high point and a fun, flowy descent on either side. It can also be done as a "Half Chicken".

For the Half Chicken West (about 11 miles), start by riding up the Blue Jay Trail, and turn left at the first Lost Chicken Trail intersection. Continue clockwise on Lost Chicken to the top of the Blue Jay and enjoy the full Blue Jay downhill.

For the Half Chicken East, ride the Blue Jay trail to the top and continue straight onto the eastern half of the Lost Chicken. Once you reach the end of the Lost Chicken where it intersects with Hamlin #179, take Hamlin to the Chicken Creek Road #385 and continue north to the Rush Spur. You'll want to follow the map or MTB Project mobile app here as the route is not well-signed. At the intersection with the Blue Jay #233 turn left and enjoy the downhill.
