Need to Know

The trail is well-signed and signs tell you where restrooms and water are. The gates to the Polk historic site close at 6PM.

Description

A nice new paved Greenway trail from Polk historic site to the Cross Charlotte Trail at I-485. The trail follows Sugar Creek and is mostly sunny along the way. You go through the middle of Marsh Park where there are a few sculptures and a marsh overlook.
Altogether a nice ride.

There is construction below the Polk historic site to extend the trail to the South Carolina border. The connection from the Polk historic site to the McMullen Creek Connector is in the design phase. Right now you can connect the two by walking along the shoulder of Lancaster Hwy and Carolina Place Pkwy.
