Start at
Carter Park, climb
Carter Park to Moonstone. Then take
Barney Ford Bypass over to
Red Pig. This will drop you down into the Wellington neighborhood.
Take a right on Wellington, then cut through the Country Boy Mine to get to
B&B Trail (you can also take a right on French Gulch road to the B & B trailhead). Next, take B&B to Rail Dredge (if you want tighter singletrack and a bit more climbing, you can take Turks instead).
Cross French Gulch road and head up
Minnie Mine. Take
Minnie Mine all the way to
Back Door.
Back Door is a very pleasant climbing grade but you still have to climb 500 ft. This ends on Prospect road, take a right and climb just a short way to the entrance of
Side Door. After all that climbing, you deserve a descent. Hold onto your helmet,
Side Door is berm-y, jump-y and just plain fun. It's rated a black trail but there are no mandatory drops or gaps and many features have a ride-around.
Back Door puts you back out at
Minnie Mine. Head down, then take a right on
X10U8 (Extenuate, get it?). You'll follow this all the way back to the B & B trailhead. Take B & B and then make a right on
V3. This is a bit of a climb (and you'll wonder if it's more fun downhill, yes, of course it is.) You'll climb this to
Barney Ford. The first part of the trail is multi-use and bidirectional, but when you get back to the intersection you turned off for
Red Pig,
Barney Ford becomes a bike-only downhill jumpline through the meadow.
Cross the road and you'll be back at the top of
Carter Park. Take a right on
Barney Flow for your 3rd bike-only downhill trail of the day (or if you want something spicy and advanced, check out B-line). Then head back down the
Carter Park switchbacks and to where you started.
