One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Need to Know
There is a halfway bailout to the
Hard Money trail so you can head down the easier trail if Ore Chute is to much. Ore Chute ends on Millsite, turn left to head up for another lap or right to get back to the trailhead.
This trail was made possible with funding from ORBEA and Team Evergreen.
Description
Ore Chute is the newest bike-only downhill trail in Black Hawk. Hand-built double-black trail that descends from the northern peak on Maryland Mountain roughly 1,000' feet down to the creek in only 0.6 miles. It is very steep with many sections of fall-line loose dirt, jagged rock features and a steep slab ride just before the halfway point.
This double black diamond trail is no joke, be prepared to descend 1,000' in only 0.6 miles on jagged rock features and very steep dirt terrain.
The first rock garden feature near the top of this trail is a good indicator of how the trail is the rest of the way down. If you have to walk your bike down the first feature, you should NOT attempt to ride the rest of the trail.
