Description

Rock Tower Trail connects Domino Pond Trail to Grizzly Gulch Trail across the Jackson Road ridge.

While the trail to the north of Jackson Road is steeper and more technical through the trees, this portion to the south is a fast flowing singletrack across an open hillside, with stunning views across the park and out west towards the coast.

This trail is far less steep than either Dexter Trail or Tule Pond Trail further east, and would be a reasonable and manageable climb should you wish to ride it in the other direction. It has a firm and mainly smooth surface, and is well-defined on the ground. The route crosses a number of more level meadow sections, and passes though some small groups of trees which offers a number of options to stop/rest in the shade and admire the views.

It T-junctions with Grizzly Gulch Trail along it's more level middle portion, and therefore offers two options to continue - either left for a cross-country climb towards the east side of the park, or right to continue downhill along the more technically challenging portion of Grizzly Gulch Trail, towards the Coyote Creek entrance.
