Description

This trail offers an alternative exit from the western side of the Joseph D. Grant County Park and continues north following the long distance Bay Area Ridge Trail route.

The trail surface is reasonably smooth and level on a wide two-track width path, and begins to climb as you approach the highway crossing with Quimby Road. On the north side of Quimby Road the trail continues to climb at a gradual incline for a short distance before levelling out on a more open hillside with views east towards Grant Lake. The downhill portion towards the junction with Edwards Loop Trail is slightly more narrow and rougher, but can still be ridden by more novice riders with care.

Note that on either side of the Quimby Road there are horse gates with some quite sizeable logs (to stop illegal access), so you'll have to dismount and carry/push your bike over those.
