Parking is at the Pima-Dynamite trailhead, the Brown's Ranch Trailhead, or the
Granite Mountain trailhead.
Description
Starting at the east end, the trail follows the powerline west and then southwest. Early on, the trail has it ups and downs, with the ups being larger and steeper. Some nice views of
Granite Mountain can be seen. A couple of miles in, the trail begins to descend more than it climbs.
About half way, the trail crosses
Brown's Ranch Road with access to the Brown's Ranch trailhead not far to the south. A ways past
Brown's Ranch Road, the Scottsdale map shows the trail as "Sandy". There is a mile or so that is sandy, but it is not terribly deep, and most cyclists can maneuver through it by following the pre-existing tracks.
The last few miles are fast and fun gentle downhill all the way into the Pima-Dynamite Trailhead.
The trail intersects numerous other preserve trails and can be part of any number of different loops.
Maps of the area are available at the trailheads and on the Scottsdale website.
