Description
From the
Green Trail, take the short
Cascades connector to the ruins of Cochran Mill. The ruins include a small dam impounding a lake. You'll see the millstone on the right of the trail as you approach the dam.
From the bottom of the dam, there is a short but very steep slickrock section that might be rideable if it is dry. This takes you up to a large open slickrock area.
From the slickrock area, the trail follows Bear Creek for a short distance before turning uphill and becoming a little more technical. After the climb, the trail enters the property of the Bear Creek Nature Center, eventually coming out right at the Nature Center and parking lot.
On the other side of the parking lot, you'll take a left on the gravel Cochran Mill road which takes you back to the slickrock area.
