Need to Know

The easiest approach to this trail is via the Biscuit Flat Trail.

Description

The Peoria map of the preserve is here:
peoriaaz.gov/home/showpubli…

From north to south, the trail leaves the wide road of the New River Trail just at the bottom of the hill that goes up to the bank of the CAP canal. (The New River Trail heads south about 50 yards west of here.)

The trail travels south, parallel to the New River Trail. There are occasional sandy spots, but there are singletrack bypasses to the side of the worst ones. Eventually, the trail terminates at the northern end of the loop of the Biscuit Flat Trail.

There are numerous trails criss-crossing this area and most are not signed. It can be challenging to know which is the official trails.
