Description
This is a high elevation trail, one of the most epic trail in the Sacred Valley. It starts near 3,800m and to reach this point you need a shuttle with a good driver!
It starts up with a 2 hours hike a bike. Once on the top of the ridge you still have to climb for around 1 more hour. You'll reach the top of the Inca query of Cachicata! The views are stunning at this place.
The descent starts very steep and with tight switchbacks. You have all this first part of the descent right next to the Inca query. It is very steep and challenging. Only the most skilled riders will do it without walking a piece. Then it gets flowy and you reach an Inca doorway in middle of the mountain and facing the glacier. Then you have a fast descent until you reach the rocksteps. If you aren't strong enough, you'll have to stop and rest in middle of this steps!
Last past of the descent is very flowy and you'll reach the village of Ollantaytambo.
