Yeild to hikers and people on horseback
Description
This is a mix of singletrack and doubletrack with a small road section. Riders have right of way.
As mentioned in one of the Check-in's, the trail is not marked, so download the GPX file from here, and grab an app like GPX Viewer (free for Android at least) or use the
MTB Project mobile app.
Even with it, expect to get lost in a couple of places but it's pretty easy to find your way back on course. There are a few really fun sections, and the worst climb is right at the beginning. Set your directions to the Buck Creek Playground or the Prairie View Recreation Area.
From there, you'll cross the street and bike through the Wildlife Viewing Area up towards the dam. You'll circle back around the back side of the dam, then end up biking along some odd cement drainage ditches until you meet up with an access road, which you'll follow briefly until you meet up with the trailhead. There are some surprises along the way, and a couple of places to access some nice viewpoints on the lake - best one being at mile 3.3.
Note, do not turn onto Grant Rd, the trail picks up just short of the intersection on Moorefield Rd. If you miss it, you can pick the trail back up again at the Horse Trail Parking lot.
