Description
Open April 2023! Brand new XC trail built by the Forest City crew and Route 66 Bike Shop in Rolla.
About 3.5 miles with flowing turns and tons of up and down. Best parking is at the Mine Overlook on the Historic Drive. Like any new trail it's a little rough around the edges but ready for some tires and treads! Currently this is the only MTB trail at the park which also has fishing, camping, a fantastic museum and even a café! The famous Joe Dirt ride can also be ridden from here. For the truly adventurous soul you can ride to BallHooter from Forest City but you might get wet feet.
The trail is 3.5 miles of good old fashioned non-directional cross country with plenty of twists, turns, dips, berms, and elevation. Word on the street is it's riding pretty good clockwise, but counter clockwise has some sweet natural features too! Be aware that sometime in the summer of 2023 there will a forest thinning operation so trail access may be suspended for a short time while the loggers work.
