Description
Starting at the T lot of the UNC Outdoor Education Center nearest the top of the hill is the entrance that can be accessed. The start will take you through a dystopian basket ball court. The descent starts at the back corner along the back side of the chain link fence. (Very obvious where to go).
A not so slow traverse into the switchbacks of the hill/valley take you past some in the trees education spots that remind me of planet Endore or Kevin Costner Robin Hood, then the real fun start as you wind back using the berms to increase and sustain speed while navigating rocky terrain and bouncing root structures.
No too tight turns or bar grabber trees to foul you into the dirt on this ride. So while keeping up speed and dodging squirrels a very minimal climb up one long switchback will reload you to be fired out again down through more berms and across a UNC blue bridge (nice touch y'all) and back into a berm!
A couple of switchbacks and one more slow gradient up will then rocket you out of the woods right next to the pond/runoff pool/disc fishing farm. Then it's up to you to go on to
Shagbark Loop or back up the hill for more GOAT HILL!! Beautiful ride.
