Description

Helpful tip: If riding Clockwise, the trail gets pretty rocky right away. To stay on Gladerunner, just take a right at all intersections except Cheater Line. Riding CCW puts you on some fun flow trail pretty quickly, and to stay on Gladerunner, just go left at every intersection except Cheater Line.

This 100% singletrack trail system starts with prime hardwood forest riding on the north end, but transitions into beautiful pine forest riding towards the southern reaches of the property. Highlights include a desert-like slickrock section (the Glades) and a rock bluff overlook. Glade Runner is a ~7.5 mile loop blazed in green. There are 4 additional, more difficult loops each about 1 mile long, which branch off the main trail. They are blazed in blue: GORT (Good Ol' Rocky Top), Randy's Crack, Amateur Hour, and Upper Cut.

The gravel/paved Ironworks bike path may be used to shorten a ride or create a different one by bypassing some areas. As of 2022 the entire trail is soft surface and there is no longer a need to ride the paved path to complete the loop. Also, there is a new restroom at the trailhead!

Water is available from a frost-free hydrant across the street from the trailhead at the Route 66 Trail Oasis pavilion.

While most of the trail passes through woods, there are some stunning Ozark glade sections.
