Description
Peels off from the
Boundary Trail - Purple Blaze near where the old black downhill trail started (that one is closed while they are building even more trails).
Starts off as a fairly flat low key cross-country trail. Once a large flat boulder comes into view, that is a signal that the bottom is about to drop out. You can roll the boulder or bail out on the alternate line on the right. After that, it is fairly steep downhill most of the way. There is another rock feature that immediately goes into a steep bermed turn to the left where you can't spot the exit from the entrance. Recommend scouting what you can't see the first time down.
After that, there are many more banked and bermed turns. Drops to cross creeks a few times with each then followed by a short uphill that is designed to flow well if you carry speed. Just a great trail overall. Dumps out on the Palmetto segment that brings you up from the parking lot. This trail is technically listed as two way but no idea how anyone would go up it - parts are very steep.
New map says it is "downcountry" and "moderate" but it seems harder than the new Trail #13 which is listed on the new map as "advanced."
