Winter seasonal closure for bikes is from Dec. 1 through April 15. Higher elevation and north facing parts of the trail may remain muddy and hold snowpack into May, please Ride Dirt, Not Mud, turn around if in doubt.

Description

Find the bottom of this hand built trail along the rolling top portion of the Vasten Trail. Optimized for climbing, you'll arrive at an intersection with Undie, just a few hundred yards from the top of the mountain, the Top of the Crown. Along the way, you'll find oak brush, sage meadows, aspen groves, and eventually big views towards Mount Sopris and Capitol Peak. While many will climb this trail to find a big descent down Undie, or Crown Royale, some will find ripping down this trail back to Vasten Trail, their preferred flavor.

As of August 2023 the trail is fully passable & rideable, including two new bridges and a fence ride over structure. However, some portions are still raw and in progress. RFMBA is continuing the trail building efforts started by volunteers and youth corps crews, fine tuning and improving the trail to ensure it rides great in both directions when it's finished.
