Features Views

Upper Animas Mountain trails closed for wildlife December 1 to July 31st. Lower Animas Mountain trails (from Aquila to the south) are closed from December 1 to April 15. Watch out for hikers.

Description

The Lupine trail (sometimes also known as West Rim Trail) climbs steadily amongst pines and more open terrain. Along the edge of the cliff, you'll get nice views of Chapman Lake and Junction Creek area to the west. Top out at the summit of Animas Mountain for great views of Animas Valley to the north.
