Only have an hour to ride? This is a perfect before or after work loop - great bang for your buck! It has a decent climb to get your heart rate up and one of the best downhill trails in the area.
There is NO shade on this ride. In the summer, try to plan your ride in the morning or evening and bring water.
This route has some rocky sections throughout but nothing too difficult. All levels can enjoy this loop!
Plenty of Parking. Bathrooms on site. Creek access for dogs
Recommend starting this loop at the East Canyon Creek Trailhead.
You'll begin heading North on The
Graduate Trail, ride over the bridge and you'll come to a fork in the trail. If you want the easier, less steep option, go to the left (this is technically The
Graduate Trail). Many riders decide to go up the doubletrack trail to the right, it's steeper but shorter. Regardless, it ends up joining back up with The
Graduate Trail so either way works.
After you go about 0.7 miles, you'll come to the
Fink Again junction. Take a left and enjoy the mile climb up to the
24-7 Trail. It's a steady climb with lots of switchbacks and pretty views. Once you get to the
24-7 Trail junction, take a right. You'll traverse down and up on the
24-7 Trail for about 0.8 miles. You'll pass
Ant Farm and Cutthroat downhill trails on your right, continue to ride over the short technical rock garden (beginners may want to walk this section) for another 100 yards -
The Dropout will be on your right.
The Dropout is a downhill-only trail so let it rip! Get ready for some epic berms, features, jumps and drops. Every feature has ride around options so even beginner/intermediate riders will love it. Be cautious as you reach the bottom, at about 0.7 miles the trail will merge with Crazy Eights, so keep your eyes open for riders coming in hot.
After another 100 yards, you'll connect to the
Bad Apple Trail, take the switchback, and climb back up towards
Fink Again (If you go straight through the switchback, it will take you down to the
Bad Apple Trailhead). At the
Fink Again junction, take a left onto The
Graduate Trail and head back down to the trailhead.
If you have more time and/or have more in ya, don't turn left on The
Graduate and head back up
Fink Again for another lap on
The Dropout, or enjoy one of the other popular Bob's Basin downhill options - Crazy Eights,
Ant Farm or Cutthroat (in order of difficulty).
