Description

This great trail was completed in 2023, making it a welcome addition to the new trail system called Durango Mesa Park. Starting from the platform-like junction with Mesa Connector and Telegragph Connector, the rider has two downhill options. The easier Meadow Beginner Downhill has all of the features of its more challenging sibling (Meadow Intermediate Downhill) but is downsized and goes over less steep terrain.

Starting from the top, you'll encounter some sweeping bermed turns and then some small jumps. Some jumps are armored at the lip with rectangular stone pavers to help prevent erosion and keep the launches consistent. Other jumps are 100% dirt, and the tabletops are shorter and sloped away downhill for more forgiving landings. Long trains of 3-6 woop-de-do's further increase the fun. Mid-way down, once you're in the grove, there are a couple of off-camber launches into tighter turns. Near the end, there is even a stone bench if you want to pull off for a breather or to watch the action against the backdrop of the distant La Plata Mountains.

The trail grade flattens at the very end for another series of fun bermed turns and some more woop-de-do's. The trail finally joins with Meadow Intermediate Downhill for the last few shared yards, so watch for speeding downhillers at this "Y" junction.
