Need to Know

North Bend State Park has a very nice lodge, lake, campground and access to the 72 mile North Bend Rail Trail.

Description

This trail is best ridden down rather than up. The upper portion begins at the top of the spillway service road and can be accessed from the Barton's Lake near the intersection of the Overlook Trail. Look for a small gravel road climbing up to the spillway. Turn right at the grassy area below the spill way and head toward the short paved section of road (behind a wire fence). At the top of the pavement (also the top of the spillway) the trail is on your right. The trail drops over some small rock ledges and passes by Castle Rock, a giant rock monolith, on it's way down the ridge. Enjoy!
