Upper Pirate is a great downhill trail with a taste of raw, rough, and rooty. It has added man made features such as a new clean built step up at the top and a few small turns part way through, but the rest of the trail holds a moderately high speed and is loaded with roots.

It is quite rough after all the years of riding and gets more challenging each year. There is also a good off-camber section to be ready for when wet.

Great trail overall for the downhill lovers out there searching for something rougher.
