From Cairn 2 at the top of Talbott's Burning Mountain Trail, The Ward Peak Trail continues to climb a few peaks and descends a few saddles as you make your way to the Fire On The Mountain descent. Ward Peak is a hand built trail, that has a much narrower tread than what you just encountered on Talbott's Burning Mountain Trail. If Ward Peak is too technical for your taste, consider turning back and descending Talbott's Burning Mountain Trail.

Fire On The Mountain only gets more technical and challenging so choose wisely. Ward Peak is open to 2 way travel so you can ride out to the top of Fire On The Mountain, but be advised that if you do this you'll have some more climbing to get back over to Talbott's Burning Mountain Trail.
