Need to Know
All of the trails in this zone are multi-use and are NOT directional so please beware of other bikers, hikers or trail runners.
Description
Drop a vehicle at the lower trailhead, load up for a 15 minute drive up Kyle Canyon(157) to Deer Creek Canyon(158) and then to the upper lot at the trailhead.
The first high speed mile or so of this route has several bumps, jumps and rollers before staying left at the trail Junction with "
Tin Can Alley". Once you are on
Tin Can Alley the trail changes to a thick forested and windy flow trail for a few miles before you'll stay left at the junction with "Lower Showgirl". Once you're on Lower Showgirl you'll start noticing the transition from mountains to desert, from pine trees to cactus and Joshua trees. Coming out of the forest the sky opens up and you'll have some amazing views down canyon and back up toward Mt Charleston. There are a few trail signs along the way to guide you down down the fast and twisty trail before ducking under hwy 157 and getting back to the lower lot.
There are many options and variations to lengthen or shorten this ride. You could even loop it if you don't have someone to shuttle with and/or if you enjoy big climbs.
