Overview

This ride is part of the Prospector/Church Rocks/Dino Cliffs trail network. It's a relatively easy slickrock trail with singletrack sprinkled in, and makes a good introduction to slickrock riding in the area. You'll get to shred petrified sand dunes surrounded by beautiful desert!

Description

Park at the Grapevine/Dino Cliffs trailhead parking lot. Hop on your bike and make your way up an easy climb along the Grapevine trail until you link into the Prospector trail. Follow the trail up a steep hill and down Brackens Connector into an abrupt wash.

After the sandy wash, you'll be approaching Church Rocks. Ride Church Rocks trail counterclockwise for a fun, technical slickrock section before you return to the sandy wash.

Follow Brackens/Prospector back for a short section before linking into Dino Cliffs to finish off your slickrock safari. Work your way through a series of technical rollers, chunk and more. Exit Dino Cliffs early to avoid pushing your bike up the steep sandy hill of doom, then make your way back to the car via old roads and singletrack trail.

On top of Church Rocks near the fartherst most point before the cool drop back to the return section. I was going clock-wise on this day.
